Independent advice. Expert delivery.

Most homeowners trying to improve their home's energy performance face the same problem: lots of conflicting advice from people who each sell one thing. We start with a whole-house assessment and produce a plan — then we design and manage the project ourselves.

Advice

Independent and impartial

Our retrofit assessors and retrofit coordinators are PAS2035 certified. Our design team includes two CIAT chartered architectural technologists. They do not install anything. They do not earn commission on what gets recommended. Their job is to tell you what your home actually needs — even if that is "not yet" or "start here, not there." We use real rate cards from our contractor network to model costs accurately, not ballpark figures.

Delivery

Designed in-house, built by vetted contractors

Once you are ready to proceed, our architectural technologists and retrofit coordinators design the project in full. Only the physical installation is carried out by external contractors — and we are specific about who those contractors are. Every contractor has been interviewed, certified, financially checked, reviewed on past work, and tested on a live project before we work with them. Throughout the build, one of our own retrofit coordinators manages the project on site.

Furbnow employs retrofit assessors, retrofit coordinators, and CIAT chartered architectural technologists. The people giving you advice have no financial stake in what you install. The people designing your project are qualified professionals. The people building it have been rigorously vetted and are overseen throughout. We cover properties across England, including older homes, period properties, and listed buildings.

Built to handle all of it

Older homes are responsible for a significant share of the UK's carbon emissions — and they are expensive and uncomfortable to live in. But improving them is hard. The market is fragmented, the advice is contradictory, and most contractors only do one thing. Furbnow was built to be the company that handles all of it. One team, one plan, one point of accountability — from first conversation to completed project. We are not here to sell you a product. We are here to make your home warmer, cheaper to run, and better for the long term.
