Our belief

You shouldn’t have to become a building physicist or construction expert to add energy upgrades to your home.

You shouldn’t have to become a building physicist or construction expert to add energy upgrades to your home.

We bring it together for you.

We bring it together for you.

The building industry is built in silos, with every profession looking at its own bit instead of designing and planning for it all to work together.

Who we are

Who we are

Becky Lane and Laurence Watson, co-founders

Laurence and I (Becky) started Furbnow to make it easy for homeowners to decarbonise their homes, whether you want a home that’s comfortable year-round, a modern-performing home, or more resilience against energy price hikes.

My own Edwardian home renovation was a retrofit mess. I went back to brick and missed the window to upgrade my home with internal wall insulation at the perfect time, because I was worried about the problems choosing the wrong material would cause. I lost that golden window and spent five years regretting it in cold rooms.

We have built our design tools and our team of experts to make sure you don’t miss your window and get it done right, first time. We provide an integrated view of your home: insulation brings the heat pump sizing down; new windows and doors integrate with new insulation; ventilation supports healthy air as we tighten the home up.

Not an EPC, which provides a vague list of things to install

Not the view of an individual installer, which doesn’t tell you the other half of the picture

Not the RICS survey, which doesn’t tell you anything about how those building issues affect your energy upgrades

Not the architect who plans your new extension but isn’t trained on how to treat the old part of your house
