About the author

I’m Becky Lane, and I’ve been working in home energy for my entire career.

I started at The Energy Systems Catapult driving positive policy change for UK homeowners then led the delivery of Birmingham’s Net Zero Neighbourhood retrofit programme. I’ve also served on the board of the Sustainable Housing Action Partnership in Birmingham and qualified as a Retrofit Coordinator.

I’ve been living and breathing home energy efficiency and founded Furbnow in 2022 to give impartial, actionable advice to carry out the work your home actually needs.
